Free(): double free detected in tcache 2 mothur v.1.42.1

Hello Mothur Team,

According to my logfile I am using mothur v.1.42.1

I used the unique.seqs(fasta=current, count=current) command and got the following error free(): double free detected in tcache 2

From what I have read from previous forums it seems that having the most updated version of mothur is the fix. I just want to make absolutely sure that is the case here.

Updating to the most recent version would be the first thing to try
