Chimera.slayer: The system cannot find the path specified.

Chimera slayer was OK with mothur 1.17.1 (Win 32 XP) and resulted in:

mothur > chimera.slayer(fasta=peau.trim.unique.good.filter.unique.precluster.fasta, template=silva.gold.filter.fasta, minsnp=100)

Checking sequences from peau.trim.unique.good.filter.unique.precluster.fasta …

Reading sequences from silva.gold.filter.fasta…Done.
Reading sequences from peau.trim.unique.good.filter.unique.precluster.fasta…Do
ne.

Only reporting sequence supported by 90% of bootstrapped results.
G2EHO8U01DM71P yes

However, using mothur 1.19.0 (on the same computer) the command prompt says:

mothur > chimera.slayer(fasta=peau.trim.unique.good.filter.unique.precluster.fasta, template=silva.gold.filter.fasta, minsnp=100)

Checking sequences from peau.trim.unique.good.filter.unique.precluster.fasta …

Reading sequences from silva.gold.filter.fasta…Done.

Can you help with this issue ?

Thank you.

Hi,

I’ve just updated the chimera.slayer wiki page (http://www.mothur.org/wiki/Chimera.slayer). Basically, you now need to get ahold of the megablast and formatdb binaries from the legacy version of blast and put the blast folder next to the mothur executable. Hopefully, we’ll have a far less wonky solution in the next release of mothur.
