vsearch executable file

Hi,

I am running Mothur version 1.39.1. So far everything was going well until I ran the following command:

mothur > chimera.vsearch(fasta=stability.trim.contigs.good.unique.good.filter.unique.precluster.fasta, count=stability.trim.contigs.good.unique.good.filter.unique.precluster.count_table, dereplicate=t)

Then I get this error:

Using 8 processors.
/usr/local/bin/mothurvsearch file does not exist. Checking path…
[ERROR]: file does not exist. mothur requires the vsearch executable.
[ERROR]: did not complete chimera.vsearch.

Any ideas? Thanks so much.

Just wanted to let everyone know in case someone else is struggling with this. Vsearch is a separate program that needs to be installed in the same directory where Mothur is located.

It should be packaged with what you download to run mothur and so it should not require a separate download.
