After running the pre.cluster command, the mothur log file states all of my output files including the *precluster.fasta file, however, that file is not listed in my directory, instead the file created is *precluster.fastatemp. I’ve tried using multiple processors and using 1.
Has anyone experienced this before?

Are there any errors in the output? It sounds like perhaps the command crashed out before finishing.

No errors at all. It’s odd that the log file said that the fasta file was created… hmm. Anyhow, after posting this I went back and tried again (after a few weeks), I was intending on first making sure this was still happening, then trying to pre cluster with version 1.38, however, it worked with the current version at that time. But, still puzzling as to why that was happening.
