Hello mothur users, I have a count_table file generated using make.group( ). I am running mothur v.48 on linux. The file runs normally through my normal pipeline but when I get to make.shared() I see the following error:
[ERROR]: Your count table contains more than 1 sequence named #1,exp35_g2m0_130720_ACAGTG, sequence names must be unique. Please correct.
The interesting thing is that the string in the error message is a group, not a sequence.
Similar error if I input the count file (together with the fasta file) into another program, like summary.seqs or list.seqs:
[ERROR]: Your count table contains more than 1 sequence named Representative_Sequence, sequence names must be unique. Please correct.
Again, no sequences “Representative Sequence” in my file.
In mothur v.47 in Windows the same count_table file runs fine.
thanks,
Giovanni
