unifrac.unweighted output

Hi mothur-makers,

I do not understand the output of the unifrac.unweighted command (1.39.5). I ran:

unifrac.unweighted(tree=c2014.tre,count=c2014.count_table,iters=100,distance=column)

…and got these four files as the output:

c2014.uwsummary
c2014.1.unweighted.ave.dist
c2014.1.unweighted.std.dist
c2014.tre1.unweighted.column.dist

So when I look into the files, *uwsummary and *column.dist contain the same values, whereas *ave.dist file is different.
I assume *ave.dist is an average calculated from all the iterations, but where does than the *uwsummary comes from?

Here are the first 2 lines:
*ave.dist:
BA1b BA1a 0.665693
BA4 BA1a 0.638282

*column.dist:
BA1b BA1a 0.681662
BA4 BA1a 0.640782

Thanks in advance for your help,
L

The ave.dist file has the average distances from the rarefaction where as the column.dist has the distances without rarefaction. You want the ave.dist file.

OK, it all makes sense now, thanks!.
