summary.tax bug or user error?

Hi There,

I am looking at some cyanobacterial reads in my data. When i look through my taxonomy file, i notice that there are >6000 sequences affiliated to:
Bacteria(100);Cyanobacteria(100);Cyanobacteria(100);SubsectionIII(100);FamilyI(100);Leptolyngbya(100)

However, in the summary.tax file the classification only goes to Family I level. I re-tired summary.tax with print level 6 but, the Leptolyngbya do not appear. Any ideas why: could this be an actual a bug or more likely user error?

Thanks,

Hi all,

I just tried the summary.tax on my files on a labmates mac (mothur v1.37.3) and the the taxonomy file now summaries correctly (Leptolyngbya are in the tax.summary file).

In comparison i am using mothur on a linux v.1.39.0

Thanks,

Could you try version 1.39.1, https://github.com/mothur/mothur/releases/tag/v1.39.1?
