Mothur crashes during shhh.flows

Hi,
I am currently analysing some 454 data with mothur. shhh.flows went well with all my samples but one. The mothur window shut down itself without reporting any error. I compared the size of the files .trim.flow, and it seems that for this sample, it is way larger (36000ko vs 5000ko for
others). Do you have any advice ?

What command are you running for trim.flows? It’s critical that your minflows and maxflows parameters are the same to get adequate denoising and to limit the memory requirements. Alternatively, you might need to get access to a computer with more RAM or reduce the number of processors you are using.

Yes the problem was the RAM, got access to a HPC and it worked!

Thank you
