Can't get groups to separate into separate rabund files

Hi Pat,
I’ve been working with a data set using two groups. using your sogin-tutrial as an example, everything went great until:

mothur > read.otu(list=rhizo.unique.filter.fn.list, group=rhizo.groups, label=unique-0.01-0.02-0.03-0.04-0.05-0.06-0.07-0.08)
unique 1
0.01 3
0.02 4
0.03 5
0.04 6
0.05 7
0.06 8
0.07 9
0.08 10
Segmentation fault

So I tried reading in ALL possible OTU’s:

mothur > read.otu(list=rhizo.unique.filter.fn.list, group=rhizo.groups, label=unique-0.00-0.01-0.02-0.03-0.04-0.05-0.06-0.07-0.08-0.09-0.10)
unique 1
0.00 2
0.01 3
0.02 4
0.03 5
0.04 6
0.05 7
0.06 8
0.07 9
0.08 10
0.09 11
0.10 12
creating sharedfile…complete.

Three things:

  1. The read OTU list looks to simple
  2. Why get a segmentation fault when I only ask for a subset?
  3. After this step, the shared file is created correctly, but there are no group rabund files. There should have been two groups “SM-P” and SM-S" that should have been created. Instead I do get separate .list files.

This is the third time through this exercise. Earlier I found out that the fasta file must not have any spaces in the fasta descriptor. Rather than delete the descriptors, my fasta file tiles are long e.g from the groups file:

Any ideas?
Pete

Pete - can you try again with v.1.6.0? I think we may have seen this bug before and fixed it in the newest version.
