Uchime

Dear Forum members,

I have a question concerning uchime. I was running the command uchime and used a cluster to screen my Sequences for chimeras. Unfortuantely it stopped after 14 days and only 150 groups from my 192 groups were screened. Now I would like to know if there is any chance to seperately screen the remaining sequences and merge the outcoming files? I would really like to avoid starting the process again.

Unfortunately, mothur does not provide a way to do this.

Really 14 days?

14 days seems like quite a short time for me as I am unfortunately using sequences with only a small overlap. I set off my last Uchime command a month ago and it is still going…

These long execution times are pretty standard when the MiSeq reads do not fully overlap with each other. See:
