Anyhoo, I’ve always thought it would be killer if mothur’s heatmap.bin command would display the actual number of members in each group i.e. unique to a sample, or shared across some samples. This could be overlayed in the heatmap area itself (printed in blue, perhaps) or offset in a separate column. Doing so would obviate the need to generate venn diagrams at all since the heatmap shows both the overlap and abundance information. It’d also be great if the fonts scaled with the size of the data set. For fairly large heatmaps, the fonts tend to get skooshed.
