I’ve been trying to use the cluster.classic command and my computer continually crashes. I’ve had no problems with other commands. I’ve just got my local, friendly bioinformatician to try it on his much more powerful computer and it’s crashed his. He seems to think there is a memory leak problem, as the file I am using is small (~2MB) and the command is expanding into all the RAM before crashing. The output just says killed.
Any help appreciated!
Is your distance file in phylip or column format? The cluster.classic command can only handle a phylip formatted file. If your file is phylip formatted, could you send it to email@example.com?
It’s Phylip formatted. Will send it via email now.
I took at look at your distance matrix. The first line is 95274, indicating you have 95274 sequences you will be providing data for, but the file only contains 1375 lines not 95274 and the last line is not complete. Also, all your distances are 1. I hope this helps.
