# New RDP reference files (v19)

Hi. Last week I downloaded and used the RDP v19 reference files (RDP version), and had no troubles. Today, after doing a classify.seqs after downloading it again, it showed the following error:

mothur \> classify.seqs(fasta=seqs.trim.contigs.fasta, reference=trainset19\_072023.rdp.fasta, taxonomy=trainset19\_072023.rdp.tax, cutoff=80)

Using 32 processors.

Generating search database… DONE.

It took 12 seconds generate search database.

Reading in the trainset19\_072023.rdp.tax taxonomy… [ERROR]: AJ000684 is missing the final ‘;’, ignoring.

After looking into the new .fasta and .tax files, I found that the .tax file is missing the ; after the taxonomies, which is present in the previous versions.

Hey Douglas - thank you so much for catching this! They changed how they provide the files and I had to update a fair amount of code. Clearly I missed the final semicolons. Can you download the files again and see if they work better now?
