# Error: Template is not aligned, aborting

Dear all,  
I am using mothur v.1.43.0. I got an error (Template is not aligned, aborting.) in this command align.seqs(fasta=ecoli.v4.fasta, reference=silva.v132.align). could you advise me?

Hi there,

Are you sure that you are using the right file? Did you download `silva.v132.align` from the wiki or elsewhere? You might try downloading it again and try again.

Could you post a screenshot of what you’re running and the error message you are getting?
